Service Description
The Sign & Shine Success System — or 4S — is The Maldon Academy’s complete training path for students who want to become professional American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters.
This step-by-step program takes you from no prior ASL knowledge to developing both language fluency and interpreting skills. Through interactive lessons, guided practice, and mentorship, you’ll build the confidence and competence needed to serve as a qualified interpreter in real-world settings.
What students gain in 4S:
- A strong foundation in ASL vocabulary, grammar, and culture

The Maldon Mentoring Method — or 3M — is The Maldon Academy’s personalized, one-on-one mentoring program for interpreters who are ready to take their skills to the next level.
This 100% virtual program provides customized guidance tailored to your unique goals, whether you are working toward national certification, strengthening advanced interpreting techniques, or refining your professional practice. With direct mentorship from Shawn Maldon, M.Ed., NIC, you’ll receive honest feedback, structured coaching, and the accountability needed to grow with confidence.

CEU-Granting Workshops
Our CEU-Granting Workshops provide continuing education opportunities for professional interpreters who want to stay current, sharpen their skills, and explore new areas of expertise. Led by nationally recognized presenters and experienced professionals, these workshops are designed to challenge, inspire, and elevate your practice.
Participants earn RID-approved Continuing Education Units (CEUs) while gaining insights into specialized fields such as legal interpreting, performance settings, healthcare, ethics, and emerging technologies like AI in interpreting. Each workshop encourages collaboration, discussion, and hands-on application to strengthen both knowledge and professional confidence.
